Rank and Organization: Sergeant, Company H, 13th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Place and Date: At Hatchers Run, Va., 6 February 1865. Born: 1 June 1842, Marble Hill, Montgomery County, Pa. Date of Issue: 25 February 1865.

Citation:

In a mounted charge, dashed into center of the enemy's line and captured the colors of the 33rd North Carolina Infantry.
